Your orthodontist will determine whether or not interproximal reduction is necessary after completing a comprehensive oral exam and creating your custom treatment plan. If they determine that using this orthodontic technique is crucial in order to give you the healthy smile and bite you deserve, they will let you know and provide you with an overview of what to expect. Sometimes, this is completed at the first official visit, and other times it\u2019s completed after progressing through several sets of aligners.
